The Finnish Charts pre-1995 are not available anywhere on the web, as far as i know, but don't worry. The finnish chart expert Timo Pennanen published in 2006 a book called "Sisältää hitin - levyt ja esittäjät Suomen musiikkilistoilla vuodesta 1972" (Helsinki: Kustannusosakeyhtiö Otava. ISBN 13-978-951-1-21053-5) that includes a listing of all the artists that made the official charts between 1972 and 2006.
For both singles and albums before 1994 the charts have been compiled from all the existing Finnish charts and rearranged them into a weekly order (there were at best three simultaneously published singles and albums charts - some monthly released, some biweekly released). If one compares the chart positions in this book to the ones in the book "Suomi Soi: Suuri Listakirja" by Jake Nyman (which includes only the charts from the "Mitä Suomi Soittaa"-chart, which was not the official chart, as there were no official chart until 1994, but it was at the time the most comprehensive but unfortunately only a monthly released chart) the charts are more complete and includes a wider selection, it also leaves out the "various artists"-compilations that sometimes dominated too much the charts before 1994.
Not only does "Sisältää hitin" include the entries on Finnish albums & singles chart, but also for The Finnish Top 50 Hits Chart (sales+airplay listing), Finnish Radio Airplay Chart and The Finnish Jukebox Chart (1975-1989) Last edited:

The chart positions for Tom Jones in the Finnish charts. I only listed the peak positions on the charts and date when it entered the charts. The Finnish singles charts were monthly until mid-80's so the number of weeks back then were not that many per release.

Loft sounded completely unfamilar and i was ready to write here nothing for them, but was very surprised when i checked their chart history, and especially as it seems they were bigger in Finland than Germany, Switzerland or Austria. Had no idea, never been much into eurodance... Well, everybody always seem to think that Finland is the home of hard rock and heavy metal (because of the success of HIM, Nightwish, Children of Bodom and the (awfully bad) Lordi), but in the first half of the 90's eurodance was huge in Finland, especially if it came from Germany it sold very well, for the time being at least... Today completely forgotten (for a reason) eurodance-acts like Mr. President, E-rotic, Sin With Sebastian, Captain Jack, Captain Hollywood Project all had Top 3 Singles in Finland, some of them went all the way to Number-one (Mr. President and E-rotic even topped the Albums chart !!?). Then came the second coming of Modern Talking and Scooter's rise to fame and most people equalled "German music" with expletive expressions... I guess it's a bit roughly said, but it wasn't until Rammstein became popular here, that people completely allowed themselves to be fans of german music again.
