The guitar work is fantastic, and I love the little touches of piano, especially leading into the chorus which just sounds amazing. The drumming is also excellent and adds a lot of energy when there was already plenty to go around. The way the instruments ramp up for the pre-chorus allows for a magnificent build through to the chorus. Andy's voice is great and the lyrics are quite deep and emotional in an appealing and relatable way; getting through a dark period is a tough battle, but one well worth winning. This is also an insanely catchy track, the chorus especially is one of the catchiest things I've heard in a long time, and I love that the bridge uses the same vocal melody, just with fewer instruments, followed by what I think is the same instrumental work from the chorus, just without the vocals. It's a very clever touch. The final chorus sounds magnificent after this and rounds out the track wonderfully. This is brilliant. |
