Grundsätzlich hat eine "Best Of" dieser tollen Band - sozusagen die Roxette der späten 1990er -, die sich leider viel zu früh (nach nur 2 Alben) aufgelöst hat, natürlich eine hohe Note (wenn nicht gar die Bestnote) verdient, doch die Songauswahl gefällt mir hier nicht besonders ... vor allem, weil zu wenige (bzw. die falschen) Songs des von mir eindeutig bevorzugten 1. Albums enthalten sind ... <br>Nette Ergänzung dafür: die beiden Solo-Songs von Darren Hayes (vor allem "So Beautiful").

Eine supertolle Scheibe für alle die auf gefühlsvolle Popmusik stehen, die mit Rockelementen bereichert ist u. schönem Gesang.

Nach zwei Alben eine Best of ist natürlich kein feiner Zug, aber das Duo war ja schon verfrüht am Ende und immerhin gibt es Solo-Material von sexy Darren und B-Seiten! Knappe 5 daher.

Would have expected this greatest hits to have charted higher here in the UK as SG were a big top 10 act here. Also surprised the album didn't last longer on the charts as both studio albums spent a year on the charts.<br>This is a great pop rock collection of familiar tunes and big hits. <br><br>6 weeks in the UK top 100. <br><br>UK#25. <br>Ireland#21.<br>Greece#33.<br><br>Taiwan#2.<br><br>100,000 copies sold in the UK.

The overall quality of the music on this compilation is what earns it a 5-star rating. Though, a 6-star rating was begging if it was truly a "best of" compilation and therefore included some of the best album tracks as well, otherwise it becomes a "greatest hits" or "singles collection" album.<br><br>This compilation is pretty much a singles collection which features most of the worldwide releases (with the exception of the Japan-only "Santa Monica") and most of the singles' B-sides (with the wonderful "Memories Are Designed to Fade" from the "To the Moon and Back" single missing out somehow).<br><br>The only true disappointment about this compilation is that they chose one of the 'Spike' Stent versions of the duo's vocalist Darren Hayes' "So Beautiful" (which was the single released to promote this compilation). Darren later admitted that the version they went with was a regrettable mistake.<br><br>While I'm bugging on about chosen versions, it would have been nice to get the original version of "Truly Madly Deeply" which featured on the Australian release of the debut album and single.
